About Us

The Emerge Club (TEC) is the undergraduate club of the Double Edged Impact Network, a registered independent, non-governmental, non-profit and (inter)national organisation that has as its purpose to establish a platform for the discovery, development, deployment and promotion of members.

The Emerge Club was formerly known as Double Edged Network and was founded in 2019 at the Univresity of Nigeria, by Ifegwu-Mbonu Victor, while still an undergraduate at the institution.

The Club is set up to provide undergraduates with a platform for develop themselves in the following core areas:

  • Mental Development: This is because the mind is the control room of the activities of human.
  • Personal Growth: This is because no one ever goes farther than himself or herself.
  • Leadership Development: This is because everyone can lead and within everyone is a Leadership seed which has to be developed for it to come out to the open.
  • Interpersonal Relationship Development: This is because no one is an island; every man is a part of a larger social group.
  • Career Development: This is because one’s career and profession is what gives him or her worth in the society.
  • Entrepreneurial Development: This is because we are committed to building businesses and industries that will aid in economic well-being of individuals and society
  • Civic Awareness and Engagement: This is because we have a role to contribute to the growth of our society and to help in educating others on how to do same.

Vision

The vision of the Emerge Club is to build a platform out to help youths discover, develop, promote and deploy themselves to the world.

Mission

The mission of the Emerge Club is to position the Club as a credible platform for the discovery, development, promotion and deployment of youths to the world through well packaged teachings, seminars, trainings and mentorship while giving them opportunity to build useful connections to get ahead in life.

Our Founder

Ifegwu-Mbonu Victor

Ifegwu-Mbonu, Victor C. is a Social Impact Leader working in the Youth Development space to help as many young individuals as possible to discover, equip, deploy and promote themselves.

In July 2021, he was named one of the 50 Top Rising Social Impact Transformers in Nigeria.

He is the President/Founder of the Double Edged Impact Network, a membership-based organization out to build a broad-based community of individuals working together to become more for themselves, do and give more to the society.

The Double Edged Impact Network is the mother Organisation of The Emerge Club and has as its arms other  initiatives such as

  • The Double Edged Equip Program, a special Training Academy designed to help undergraduates equip themselves with relevant soft and digital skills with 102 persons trained as at September 2021.

 

  • The Emerge Summit, an annual career Summit for undergraduates in Nigeria with its first edition having 425 persons in attendance.

 

  • Project Nurture, a special mentoring platform designed to provide undergraduates with access to direct mentorship and guidance.

 

He volunteers with the Ymonitor initiative of the Future Project Africa as a 2021 Freedom of Information Ambassador through which he provides education and sensitisation to people on the importance of the Freedom of Information Act.

He is a Personal Growth and Leadership Trainer (PGLT) and provides special Training and consultation to individuals, organisations and Groups.

Ifegwu-Mbonu is a skilled Administrator with over eight years of experience in both paid and unpaid Initiatives. He has a demonstrated history of working in the Management Cadre of Organizations within the Human Relations and Human Development Industries.

Ifegwu-Mbonu has great experience in Research, Project Management, Event Planning, Public Speaking and Presentation, Data Management, Customer Service, Content Creation, WordPress Management, Word Processing, Graphics Designing, and Marketing Strategy.

He is a Fellow of the McKinsey Forward Africa Program, Alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), Alumni of the African Changemakers Initiative, member of the Lead Network Africa and was the Press Coordinator of the first Hult Prize Competition held in the University of Nigeria.

Ifegwu-Mbonu holds a B.A. in History and International Studies from the University of Nigeria and a Leadership Diploma Course Certificate from WOFBI.
