About
The Emerge Club Internship
The internship role (National Management Team) at The Emerge Club is a leadership development opportunity for undergraduates across Higher Institutions in Africa. It is a one-year non-paid role (voluntary) with the option of renewal upon satisfactory performance. The roles are fully remote, so all interns are expected to work from their locations.
This isn’t your typical internship. It’s a chance to discover your potential, sharpen your leadership abilities, and make a real impact – all while working with an incredible team of young, ambitious leaders from across Africa.
At The Emerge Club, we believe that real leadership is built through experience, passion, and the desire to create meaningful change. As a member of our National Management Team, you won’t just be learning from the sidelines – you’ll be right at the center of it all, actively shaping the future of our growing community.
Throughout this one-year journey, you’ll be given the tools, guidance, and freedom to develop your leadership skills and make real, tangible contributions. The National Coordinator of The Emerge Club is charged with providing leadership and oversight of all activities of the Emerge Club within Nigeria and shall work to give guidance to all other members of the Management Team in the discharge of their duties.

The Programs Directors of the National Management Team of the Emerge Club shall work with the rest of the Management Team to initiate, plan and manage programs and activities of the Emerge Club, taking care to ensure such programs and activities are in line with the objectives of the Club.

The Communications Director of the National Management Team of the Emerge Club is charged with the responsibility of managing both internal and external communication needs of the club. He or she shall work with the rest of the management team to develop a timely release of information as it concerns the Club to members and to the public. The communication Chair shall also serve as the Secretary of the Team and shall take and keep minutes at meetings of the Management Team.

The Digital Content Director is responsible for creating and overseeing digital content strategies for The Emerge Club. This role involves developing engaging online materials, including articles, blogs, and graphics, to promote the club’s initiatives and values across various digital platforms.
Required Skills: Excellent writing and editing skills, familiarity with SEO and digital marketing, ability to use varied digital tools, creativity, organizational skills, and good interpersonal relationship skills.
The Social Media Managers of the National Management Team of the Emerge Club is responsible for managing the various social media pages of the Emerge Club and see to the promotion of the Club through these pages.
Required Skills: Social Media Management, familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, Analytical and critical thinking, communication skills, organizational and good interpersonal relationship skills.
The Video Content Manager will oversee the production and editing of video content for The Emerge Club. This includes creating promotional videos, event highlights, and educational content that showcases the club’s activities and mission.
Required Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro), creativity, storytelling ability, analytical thinking, communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
The Visual Content Manager is tasked with creating and managing visual assets for The Emerge Club, including graphics, infographics, and promotional materials. This role aims to enhance the club’s branding and communication efforts through compelling visuals.
Required Skills: Graphic design proficiency (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Canva), creativity, attention to detail, ability to use varied digital tools, analytical and critical thinking, and good interpersonal relationship skills.
The Business and Marketing Director of the National Management Team of the Emerge Clubs is responsible for marketing the Emerge Club brand to potential donors, sponsors and partners, in a bid to secure funding and sponsorship for the club and its activities/programs/initiatives. He or she shall be required also to initiate other means through which the club could generate funds for its programs.

The Director of Membership Engagement will focus on building and maintaining relationships with club members. This role involves organizing initiatives to enhance member experience, collecting feedback, and developing programs that keep members active and engaged.

The Director of Research and Development will conduct research on trends in entrepreneurship and youth leadership. This role includes compiling data and reports to support the club’s initiatives and providing insights for program development.

Our Selection Criteria
Your application will be judged against the following:
1. Must Currently Be A Student
You need to be an undergraduate student in any recognized tertiary institution in Africa. Your role as an intern involves understanding the unique challenges and opportunities students face, so being actively enrolled in school is key.
2. Passion For Leadership and Growth
You don’t need a long history of leadership roles, but you do need the drive to lead and the desire to grow. We’re looking for students who are eager to develop their leadership capacity and help others do the same through their actions.
3. Must Be Available
We understand that life as a student can be busy, but this role will require you to dedicate 5-8 hours weekly to your responsibilities. So, time management is crucial, and availability is non-negotiable.
4. Passion For Social Impact
We want leaders who are genuinely passionate about making a difference in their communities. Whether it’s through service projects, mentoring others, or driving change on a larger scale, you need to care deeply about making an impact.
5. Good Digital Footprint

Our Feedback
At the conclusion of the interview, you should expect to hear back from us whether or not you have been selected to serve as a member of our team. If selected, you shall then be taken through an orientation course, to help you understand your roles better.
