The Nomination Process And Timeline

Deadline For Nomination is July 7th, 2023

To nominate a student or lecturer for the  TECCA Award in any of the available categories:

  • Consider the eligibility criteria listed below and be sure the individual meets them
  • Prepare in writing a justification or reason why the individual is deserving of the award. Nominations should highlight the nominee’s outstanding qualities, dedication, and significant contributions to the university community
  • Get the basic information about the person such as name, department, faculty, email, phone number,  etc as you will need those to complete the nomination
  • Access the nomination form using the links below to submit your nomination
  • Interested students may nominate themselves for any of the available Student Award Categories
  • Only some of the student categories of the Awards will be made open for voting at the conclusion of the nomination period. Others shall be decided strictly by the Awards Committee based on presented information.
Nominate a Student Or Lecturer

The first step in choosing the recipients of this year's awards is for you to submit a nomination for a student or lecturer.

June 25th to July 7th
Review Of Nominations

At the end of the nomination period, all submitted nominations will be reviewed by the 2023 TECCA Awards Committee. A shortlist of three for each category will be developed.

July 7th to 9th
Notification and Acceptance

All three shortlisted persons for each award category shall be contacted

July 9th to 12th
Announcement and Award Presentation

At The Emerge Summit 2023, winners of the various Awards will be publicly announced and presented and recognised.

July 22nd
Nominate Someone

Eligibility

An individual qualified to receive the 2023 TECCA Award in any of the available categories must:

  • Be a current full-time student or lecturer of the University (Nsukka and Enugu Campuses)
  • Have proven track record in the category being nominated for the past one year
  • Not have faced or be facing any form of disciplinary actions/criminal offence within or outside of the University community
  • Have a positive and verifiable public record

The Selection Process

The Awards Committee will take decision on recipients for each award category based solely on the information provided within each nomination form.

This is why it is important to ensure you are making a good case for your nominee. 

  • Provide specific examples and facts to back your nomination
  • The Awards committee shall consider all nominations made and come up with a shortlist of three  of those who meet the criteria
  • The shortlisted nominees shall be contacted and required to provide further information about themselves to show their suitability for the award category being nominated.
  • The final list of recipients would be gotten after due consideration and verification of provided information by the nominees. 
  • All shortlisted nominees shall receive a letter of nomination but only winners shall be announced and recognized publicly by the organizers.
