Provide Day-to-Day Leadership
The National Coordinator is the operational head of The Emerge Club National Management Team and the central driver of all club activities across the country.
He/She provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to all NMT officers and ensures that projects, programs, and engagements align with the mission of TEC.
He/She reports directly to the Vice President (BoT) and serves as the primary custodian of the organisation’s internal operations.
Key Duties:
Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth execution of all initiatives
Lead the National Management Team and supervise all department heads
Drive strategy implementation across all programs and Pods
Provide progress reports and updates to the Vice President
Ensure alignment between national goals and chapter-level execution
Offer guidance, coaching, and support to team members

Operational Support & Pod Leadership Oversight
The Deputy National Coordinator supports the National Coordinator in managing the day-to-day activities of the Club.
He/She leads internal operations, supervises Pod Leaders across campuses, and ensures the smooth functioning of local TEC communities (Pods).
He/She steps in to act on behalf of the NC when necessary and leads special high-impact projects.
Key Duties:
Assist the National Coordinator in operational management
Oversee all Pod Leaders (physical and virtual)
Monitor Pod performance and support their program implementation
Supervise internal systems, schedules, and work structures
Lead special projects and innovation-driven initiatives
Ensure faithful execution of strategies and directives

Member Recruitment, Retention & Experience
The Director of Membership Engagement is responsible for the full lifecycle of TEC membership, from recruitment to onboarding, engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
This role ensures that members feel valued, connected, and supported, and that every Pod experiences a thriving membership culture.
Key Duties:
Develop and implement member recruitment campaigns
Design and optimise the onboarding journey for new members
Track engagement metrics and monitor member satisfaction
Develop retention strategies and prevent membership decline
Support Pod Leaders with membership-building tools and ideas
Collect and analyse member feedback for improvements

Program Design, Events & Masterclass Execution
The National Programs Director leads all TEC national programs — from ideation to implementation and review.
This role ensures that all programs (Roundtable, TEC Talk, Book Reviews, Pods activities, and major events) are impactful, strategic, and aligned with TEC’s mission of youth development.
Key Duties:
Plan, design, and coordinate all national programs
Manage event timelines, logistics, and content flow
Work with Pod Leaders to roll out programs at the local level
Conduct program reviews and impact assessments
Ensure every national initiative delivers meaningful value
Collaborate with the Creative Team, Membership Engagement, and Pod Leaders

Brand Identity, Content Direction & Creative Leadership
The National Creative Director shapes the visual and communication identity of The Emerge Club.
This role leads the creative team, supervises content production, and ensures that every design, video, and communication aligns with TEC’s brand standards.
The Creative Director works closely with and oversee the various Social Media Managers to sustain a compelling online presence.
Key Duties:
Lead content strategy and visual direction
Manage creative production (design, video, branding, storytelling)
Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and materials
Supervise and guide Social Media Managers
Approve visual assets before publication
Develop creative campaigns for programs and initiatives

Content Execution & Community Engagement on Facebook
The Social Media Manager (Facebook) executes TEC’s content strategy on Facebook, ensuring that the page remains active, engaging, and aligned with the organisation’s brand voice.
This role adapts creative content for Facebook, manages community interactions, and tracks performance analytics.
Key Duties:
Manage content calendar and daily postings
Adapt approved content for Facebook audiences
Respond to comments, messages, and community interactions
Monitor platform trends and suggest content ideas
Track analytics and report to the Creative Director
Support campaigns during programs and recruitment seasons

Instagram Reels, Content, and Engagement Execution
The Social Media Manager (Instagram) executes TEC’s visual and interactive storytelling on Instagram.
This role manages reels, graphics, trends, stories, and engagement efforts to keep the community vibrant and active.
Key Duties:
Manage content calendar, create, and schedule content tailored to Instagram
Adapt approved content for Instagram audiences
Respond to and engage with followers through comments and DMs.
- Monitor trends and recommend relevant content styles
- Support brand consistency and creative execution

The Social Media Manager (LinkedIn) manages TEC’s presence on LinkedIn, our professional storytelling platform.
This role adapts content to suit a corporate audience, highlights leadership initiatives, and contributes to professional visibility.

- Manage the LinkedIn page and content calendar
- Create and adapt content for a professional audience
- Post leadership stories, achievements, and program highlights

- Engage with professional communities and potential partners

Local Leadership, Community Building & Program Execution
Pod Team Leads are the face of The Emerge Club at the grassroots level.
They manage local Pods, facilitate activities, grow membership, and ensure the execution of national programs within their assigned community (physical campus or virtual Pod).
Key Duties:
Oversee the daily operations of their Pod
Lead local recruitment and onboarding efforts
Run national programs at the Pod level (Book Reviews, Roundtables, Personal Growth Reviews, TEC Talks, etc.)
Build strong member relationships and sustain engagement
Track Pod performance and submit regular reports
Collaborate with Membership and Programs teams
Represent TEC on their campus or assigned virtual community
Required Skills:

Our Selection Criteria
Your application will be judged against the following:
1. Must Currently Be A Student
You need to be an undergraduate student in any recognised tertiary institution in Africa. Your role as an intern involves understanding the unique challenges and opportunities students face, so being actively enrolled in school is key.
2. Passion For Leadership and GrowthÂ
You don’t need a long history of leadership roles, but you do need the drive to lead and the desire to grow. We’re looking for students who are eager to develop their leadership capacity and help others do the same through their actions.
3. Must Be Available​
We understand that life as a student can be busy, but this role will require you to dedicate 4-8 hours weekly to your responsibilities. So, effective self-management is crucial, and availability is non-negotiable.
4. Passion For Social Impact
We want leaders who are genuinely passionate about making a difference in their communities. Whether it’s through service projects, mentoring others, or driving change on a larger scale, you need to care deeply about making an impact.
5. Good Digital Footprint

Our Feedback
At the conclusion of the interview, you should expect to hear back from us whether or not you have been selected to serve as a member of our team. If selected, you shall then be taken through an orientation course, to help you understand your roles better.
